FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions)

DO I NEED A FISHING LICENSE?

If you are 15 or older, YES, you do need a fishing license. Licenses are available for purchase for $10 at the charter office across from the dock. The office opens at 5:00 am. That price is the same regardless of state residency. For further licensing info please visit wdfw.wa.com

DO I NEED TO BE CONCERNED ABOUT SEASICKNESS?

Those who are worried about seasickness, we recommend either Dramamine or the seasickness patch. Either one should be taken or worn a minimum of one day prior to the trip but it is best to start two days prior. If you take Dramamine take the regular at night (you will sleep like a baby) then take the non-drowsy in the morning.  Repeat.

HOW FAR OFFSHORE DO YOU FISH?

Typically, we travel between 6 and 20 miles for Salmon and  Bottomfish. We travel 25-50 miles for Halibut fishing and 40-100 miles for Albacore Tuna. Distance depends on weather and where the fish are.

WHEN DO WE LEAVE AND WHEN DO WE RETURN?

We leave the dock between 4:30 am and 6:30 am depending on what type of fishing, weather and tides. We will return to the dock between 4:00 pm and 5:00 pm.

IS CATCHING FISH GUARANTEED?

This is a fishing trip and we will do our best to put you on fish.  Most of all, we will have fun.

WHAT HAPPENS TO THE FISH I CATCH?

We will clean, ice, and bag your fish. The deckhand will filet and process your fish for an additional fee. Bags are provided for you to take your fish with you off the boat. Please leave your fish coolers in your vehicles.

WHAT DO I WEAR?

Dress warm and dry. Rain gear and rubber boots are highly recommended especially for tuna trips. Just because it’s 85 degrees inland, it is usually foggy, damp and cool out on the ocean.

HOW DO I PAY?

WHAT ABOUT CANCELLATIONS?

We do occasionally cancel trips due to weather and mechanical issues. If the captain cancels,  your money will be refunded or you can choose to rebook for a  future trip.  We will do our best to notify customers of cancellations in a timely manner but sometimes last minute cancellations happen. We will not reimburse for travel costs. If a customer cancels, their deposit will be forfeited.
